ANJALI HARYANA

Anjali Haryana (B.A, M.A, E-RYT 500) is an Indian-Swede who resided in the U.S.A for many years and now lives in Malmö, Sweden. She cherishes a good laugh, friendly strangers, learning about different cultures and a good dinner with a delicious glass of vine. She dislikes missing a sunrise, loves resting against a tree and happily wiggles her hips in a spontaneous dance. The cupboards in Anjali’s home are always full of spices that are used creatively and lovingly in food and as medicine. She is a lover of life who embraces exploration, learning and growing.

Anjali has been exploring the practices of yoga and meditation since her early 20’s and she found them through her love for dance, philosophy and her Indian background. They have worked as a navigation in her life and the wisdom the practices have imparted has increased the awareness and deepened the relationship to the self and the world.

Anjali has over 1000 hours of deep studies within the embodied practices of hatha yoga, vinyasa flow, anusara yoga, meditation. She has participated in a wide variety of educational trainings and teacher trainings. Her teaching combines biomechanics, breath and creative flows that can be accessible and challenging. Her classes combine the focused with the gentle in a way that centers, deepens attention and allows for the faculties of the soul to grow. In her classes Anjali will tell you a story about the battle between the good and the evil, the elemental dance, the sun, moon and stars. And about your own inner song. She will co-create, motivate and uplift as she will hold space for each participant to open up, reflect and re-claim parts of the self. Distinctive for Anjali is her fire, depth and humor that ignites sparks of awareness. She has had the opportunity to study with some of the most fine, skillful, genuine and brilliant teachers such as the founder of Rasa Yoga Sianna Sherman and Phillip Zarelli. She is a certified teacher of Rasa Yoga and has done the A Year-and-a Day priestess Pilgrimage of Embodied Wisdom in RITUAL.

Her interest in wisdom traditions has resulted in years of deep studies in areas such as Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Tibetan Buddhism (tummo, tsa lung, dream yoga, tog chod), tai chi, herbology, kalarippayattu, mythology, ceremony and rituals.

In addition, Anjali has a background in philosophy, behavioral and social sciences that have equipped her with tools to coach, facilitate and communicate with people of a diverse background. She is committed in her work for democracy development, gender equality and sustainable development.

Anjali weaves the strands of inner awareness, health and societal engagement. It is her conviction that it is necessary to protect and take care of the inner climate of the individual, as well as the outer, in order to be a truly empowered individual and community.
