Dharma

Dharma is a Sanskrit word that means to live in a way that sustains, nurtures and grows your Being. The root of dharma, is dhr – “to uphold” or “support.” Sometimes translated as “duty” or “Divine life purpose”, dharma is about creating integrity and right relationship as you become all you were meant to be.

In the biggest sense, dharma is the limitless web of universal intelligence that sustains and supports all of life. Our individual dharma, or Divine Life Purpose, is not only to create happiness for ourselves, but to be in harmonious relationship with the whole of life.

One of the key teachings from the Bhagavad Gita, the root text in the yoga tradition about dharma, is that “it is better to strive in one’s own dharma than to succeed in the dharma of another. Nothing is ever lost in following one’s own dharma, but competition in another’s dharma breeds fear and insecurity.” (Gita 3:35)

TO LIVE YOUR LIFE IN A DHARMIC WAY IS TO BE YOUR MOST AUTHENTIC SELF. DHARMA IS LIKE YOUR FINGERPRINT, TOTALLY UNIQUE TO YOU!

The Bhagavad Gita guides us to sing the song of our own Blessed Journey:

  1. Listen inside to truly hear the Dharma.

  2. Rise up, take action and really go for it.

  3. Release the fruits of action and surrender.

  4. Offer it all up! Ultimately, everything is an offering.
