Listening is an art form, a gateway of leaning into new depths of learning.

Some of the most important stories weren’t actually written, yet shared generation to generation through sound. It is through this vibration we remember those who came before us. Our ancestors shared gifts of insight, wisdom, truth, protection, and education for the people and of the land. Stories of our mystical nature have been passed on through time and space, culture to culture, elder to young, all across the globe. We came to know ourselves and the world around us that much more simply by listening and attuning ourselves to this frequency of communication.

Truth be told.

Nature has been speaking up in alarming ways to render our attention for the safety of all beings, yet are we listening?

Marginalized communities are coming together to share stories, narratives, and experiences of injustice, yet are we listening?

The harmful political climate is at an obvious all time high, yet are we listening?

Our heightened sense of awareness, listening, is an ancient technology with such potent gifts for the connection of our collective. It has the power to eliminate that which is not serving the highest good when we allow for the listening to be turned inward on ourselves, others, different communities, and ways of being. It doesn’t take away, it only adds, and allows another’s voice to be validated, and most importantly, understood.

We have the power to resolve conflict, build trust, inspire, and strengthen relationships all through the realm of a listening ear. It’s a beautiful way to absorb information that can lead to taking action and serving the collective. To contribute to others is to listen. We must all practice with presence.

There is life in listening. There is love in listening. There is growth in listening. Our natural world, our diverse communities, our artists and healers, our scientists and health professionals. Everyone has a story, a message, a voice, and listening can truly change someone's life, especially the voices that have been silenced. We can not underestimate the power of being heard. Let us open our hearts, and our ears to fully receive each other. To live more in the moment. To respect the truths of others. To band together. To support each other in times of need. May we all listen with the intention and willingness to understand.

I see you.

I hear you.

I understand you.
